Updated August 31, 2010
During summer two new articles were submitted for peer review. One is discussing the concept irreversibility from a variety of perspectives. The other applies the theoretical findings on the important decision of investing in energy efficient buildings. Abstracts and Conclusions are available in the  latest news stack where information on two recently published articles is also available: Preparing the design of robust climate policy architectures now published on line by the journal Int.Env.Agreements: Politics, Law and Economics, and Views on peak oil and its relation to climate change policy by Energy Policy.
Research at this moment is focusing on the performance analysis of renewable energy support mechanisms and on global climate policy with Cancun ahead.
The Flemish Council for the envrionment and nature (Minaraad) published my February 9 lecture on post-Copenhagen climate policy as a Capitum Selectum added to its annual report; it is a pleasant edition with high quality graphs, and I like to thank the secretariat for this initiative. It stimulates my further research on various topics related to climate policy with hopeful new publications by the end of this summer.
The IPCC bureau appointed me Review Editor for Working Group III - Chapter 5 on "Drivers, Trends, and Mitigation" in the Fifth Assessment Report (2011-2014), as one of the 270 selected international experts. The contribution as review editor has grown in importance since IPCC was criticized for some slipperies in the quality control process.
