Climate Policy is absorbing most of my time. A new article Cancun muddling or policy reversal is in peer review. A climate politics lecture supports the debate about the Millenium Development Goals, organized by CONCORD (14/10) with more lectures on the topic in December. The press asked for contributions on climate policy and on the renewable energy support mechanism in Flanders (the waste of money that I announced in an Energy Policy article, 2004, is now apparent and ad-hoc corrections are under way). The media asked a viewpoint on the results of the Cancun conference; my contribution is available in the latest new stack, because the daily "De Standaard" (Dec.13, p.26) re-edited it to a less consistent article.
During summer I studied irreversibility issues from a variety of perspectives, and applied the theoretical findings on the important decision of investing in energy efficient buildings. Abstracts and Conclusions are available in the  latest news stack. The article The anatomy of investing in energy efficient buildings is published online by Energy and Buildings. Two other recent publications are: Preparing the design of robust climate policy architectures (Int.Env.Agreements: Politics, Law and Economics), and Views on peak oil and its relation to climate change policy (Energy Policy).
The IPCC bureau appointed me Review Editor for Working Group III - Chapter 5 on "Drivers, Trends, and Mitigation" in the Fifth Assessment Report (2011-2014), as one of the 270 selected international experts. The contribution as review editor has grown in importance since IPCC was criticized for some slipperies in the quality control process.
